Kids

We work in partnership with families as they invest in the spiritual wholeness of their children. We value the presence and role of kids in our community and are committed to cultivating an environment where they feel known, loved, and respected. We seek to facilitate engaging encounters with the story of Jesus, by drawing kids into an engaging, enjoyable, and provocative experience with this good news using language familiar to them.

We encourage children to bring their whole selves to God - including their questions, fears, and doubts - as they discover who God is, what He said, what He did, and what this means for their lives. We encourage them to learn to ask good questions in the discovery of who they are and who God is.

Our hope is that their lives would be radically shaped and transformed by the love of God revealed in Jesus, building a foundation of love, wholeness, purpose, and hope that shapes their lives (and those around them) for years to come! Because worship is a celebration of grace built to engage hearts and minds of all ages, Children of all ages are encouraged to join us at any time. We are used to having them around!

Sunday school is offered for children ages toddler through 5th grade. We currently have two multi-age classes.

Giraffe class

The Giraffe class is led by Teacher Diana, for children ages 6 months through PreK. Children are dropped off and signed in and out by families. This class is offered throughout the entire service, and includes play, snack, and a weekly lesson.

Giraffe class schedule:

• 3:45-4:15 – Arrival and free play
• 4:15-4:45 – Story, song, and activity time
• 4:45-5:00 – Snack
• 5:00-5:15 – Free play until parents arrive

Bear class

The Bear class includes Elementary aged students in K-5th grades. Students are dismissed during the passing of the peace and return prior to the Lord’s Supper. Sunday school for the Bears is led by Pastor Suzanne each week, and includes opening liturgy, memory verse work, story and discussion, prayer, and activity.

Join Pastor Suzanne on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month for a time of play, connection, and led prayer. We will meet in the giraffe classroom 9:30-10:30a. Friends welcome!

Students in grades 3rd-5th meet weekly at Molly Moon’s in rotating small groups from 3:30-4:30. We get ice cream, talk about faith, and play a short game or color. Each group will meet two-three times over the ministry year.

This year’s theme is How am I already created to be, and also growing into a person more like Jesus?

Discussion questions might look something like:

• What God is like and which of those characteristics we see in ourselves.
• What actions do people see when we are being like Jesus, and what makes it hard?
• What help do we have from God and others to help us be like Jesus?
