The Great Vigil of Easter

The Great Vigil of Easter

Saturday, March 30
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Recount Jesus’s final days on earth.

This is our main Easter service this year. On March 30, we will try something new: an Easter service to remember. The service begins with a bonfire outside of the building (on the gravel near the main entrance ramp), reminiscent of the bonfire around which Peter denied Jesus and the bonfire on the beach on which he was later restored by Jesus's grace. Then, a light from that fire makes its way on a large candle into the darkened church building that will throughout the service come alight as we celebrate that "while it was still dark" Mary Madeline discovered that Jesus had risen from the dead and defeated death securing for us resurrection hope in each of our own darkest nights. Childcare and kid activities are offered for kids up to age 9.
