The first lesson in parenting is to note that your children are children, and you can expect them to act as such.
MARK SNAVELY, M.D.
All Souls Kids is designed to equip and partner with families as you seek to invest in the spiritual wholeness of your children.
We value the role of kids in our community and are committed to cultivating an environment where they feel known, loved and respected.
Our hope is to draw kids into an engaging, enjoyable, and provocative encounter with the gospel using language familiar to them. We encourage them to learn to ask good questions in the discovery of who they are, who God is, and what His gospel is all about. And our hope is that their lives would be shaped dramatically by this gospel for the sake of transforming their families, schools, and neighborhoods.
On Sunday mornings, we offer a safe place for kids to be together, play, create and learn, with childcare during the service for ages 0-3, preschool, and elementary. There is also a designated and semi-private area in the worship space for nursing moms.
Ages 0 to 3: The nursery is open through the entire service...babies and toddlers will receive excellent care as they play, sing, read, do crafts, and have a snack. Please sign your child in on the provided clip-board when you arrive!
Preschool and Elementary: Kids can start off in the service (paper and crayons provided if helpful) and then are dismissed before the sermon for separate classes where they can learn and discover in a language and style more suitable to kids!
A brief sketch of what the Bible teaches about our kids:
+ Children are a gift from God and valuable members of the community.
+ Children, just like grown-ups, are desperate for Christ’s redeeming love.
+ Children can grow in faith and learn to make wise choices.
+ Children love to laugh and have fun.
Middle and High School students:
All Souls desires to be a place where each of us experiences significant, lasting relationships that would highlight the active presence of Jesus in the lives of His people, and where we would encounter Jesus in ways that will shape our understanding and experience of His grace for the rest of our lives. And this is true regardless of age.
Because we believe we grow best in the context of relationship, we are committed to coming along-side the middle and high school kids in our community through mentor groups. These mentor groups can range in size from 2-6 people, are led by folks in our church between the ages of 22 and 100, and meet informally to laugh, play, share, question, explore, study, and pray together.
If you are between the 6th and the 12th grades, and are interested in building relationships with others in our community, please contact Rachel Pelander. We are excited you’re here!
All Souls Kids uses The Jesus Storybook Bible as our primary teaching source. It is a wonderful Bible (for kids and grown ups!) and is available through Amazon, or you can check it out on our information table on Sunday mornings.
