Holy Week

Holy Week

Join us as we imaginatively engage the last days Jesus spent on Earth, as his story shapes our story.

Palm Sunday (March 24)

We remember how Jesus entered Jerusalem with fanfare and palm branches only to leave on a cross. Join us for a palm branch processional as we consider who God actually is, not just who we make him out to be. This is a family friendly service. Childcare is available for ages 1-3.

Maundy Thursday (March 28)

On Maundy Thursday, the All Souls community will gather in homes, share a meal, and ponder —through readings and songs — Jesus' last words to his disciples before his betrayal and arrest. All are welcome to participate! Please RSVP to host or attend.

Friday Interactive Stations of the Cross (March 29)

Join us at Trinity on Good Friday between Noon-6p as we remember Jesus’ journey to the cross through interactive 'stations' that explore key moments. This is designed for all ages to engage together. Please register for a time slot.

The Great Vigil of Easter (Saturday March 30)

This is our main Easter service this year. On March 30, we will try something new: an Easter service to remember. The service begins with a bonfire outside of the building (on the gravel near the main entrance ramp), reminiscent of the bonfire around which Peter denied Jesus and the bonfire on the beach on which he was later restored by Jesus's grace. Then, a light from that fire makes its way on a large candle into the darkened church building that will throughout the service come alight as we celebrate that "while it was still dark" Mary Magdalene discovered that Jesus had risen from the dead and defeated death securing for us resurrection hope in each of our own darkest nights. Childcare and kid activities are offered for kids up to age 9.

Sunrise Easter Sunday Service

Having celebrated the resurrection "while it was still dark," we'll embody the resurrection rhythm in our sleeping and then rising together for a sunrise Communion service in Westcrest Park. Gather in time for the sunrise at 6:49a to the pea patch area of Westcrest, where after a short walk from the parking lot, you come upon a lovely overlook of the city. Dress appropriately for the weather. This will be a short but celebratory service.
