If you want to walk fast, walk alone; If you want to walk far, walk with others.

AFRICAN PROVERB

ANDY PELANDER  |  pastor

Andy, with his wife, Rachel, leapt at the opportunity to organize a new church for the city, in our neighborhood. They work and live and frequent playgrounds with their three young children near Admiral Junction.

An ordained presbyterian minister, Andy is working to help start a brand new church serving the West Seattle neighborhood and surrounding areas. All Souls is thoughtfully and intentionally engaged in its community––a church for its community that shares its hopes, needs, and questions.

Andy has a graduate degree in theology and counseling, and has previously served as a pastor in the San Francisco area. In a former life, he has written for magazines, worked in design, and helped open a restaurant, in New York. Now, he’s most comfortable in the kitchen, behind a camera, on two wheels, holding a banjo, or walking his freakishly large golden retriever, Henry.

All Souls is a church for asking real questions, building lasting and intimate friendships, and celebrating the grace we’ve been shown in Jesus. For Andy and Rachel, this usually begins among friends around the kitchen table.

NATHAN RYAN  |  worship arts

Nathan, a longtime Seattleite, is a fixture in the local folk and americana music scene as both a solo act and band member. Hailing originally from Texas, there’s plenty of Johnny Cash and Elliott Smith influence in his songwriting to go around.

Nathan works to craft a meaningful, worshipful, and accessible Sunday morning service. The selection of music, liturgy, and pace is very intentional to draw the community into a reflective and dynamic experience of the God of the Bible and his gospel of grace in Jesus.

That translates to worship designed not just for those new to this church, but for those new to church, period. Nathan works with other musicians––guitar, keys, banjo, dobro, percussion––to build the All Souls ‘sound’ and catalog of many rich and storied hymns set to new music.

Nathan has eaten at every great sandwich shop in the city, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of obscure bands. He and his wife live near Alaska Junction with their four children.

CHARLOTTE ALJETS  |  sunday operations

Charlotte creates order from chaos. She works to help craft a space for worship on Sundays that is dynamic and engaging, open and honest, warm and hospitable. Why? Because worship should reflect the gospel—Jesus’s hospitality toward us. So Charlotte’s desire is to facilitate a worship service that joyfully and openly welcomes old and new friends to All Souls.

Many hands contribute to make this happen, before, during, and after. Charlotte organizes the volunteer schedule (always grateful to find new volunteers to add to the fold) and manages the ‘back of the house’.

Charlotte enjoys exploring the city and trying new coffee shops while pretending to like coffee. Loves: great literature, outstanding cheesecake, outdoor adventures, and children (she also works locally as a nanny). Charlotte and her husband live in Alaska Junction.
